Jaaron Hayek

Status: Draft Eligible

Position: Wide Receiver

Height: 6′ 1″ • Weight: 200 lbs.

School: Villanova University (#11)

As an undefeated, 3x First-Team All Passaic County (NJ) 100-meter High School Track Champion (10.85) recruited by several FBS Power-5 programs, Jaaron Hayek chose to take his talents to FCS perennial playoff contender, Villanova University, where he would have an opportunity to develop and contribute immediately. For the 2019 3-Star Recruit (247Sports.com) and true freshman, that decision resulted in participation in 12 games with eight (8) starts, 670 receiving yards, an average of 14.3 yards/reception with a long of 57 yards, seven (7) kick returns netting 95 yards, 10 rushes for 39 yards (3.9 yards/carry), 804 all-purpose yards, a 68-yard TD pass, and Freshman All-American Honors at season’s end. Jaaron is a tough, physical, sure-handed possession receiver who is also capable of taking the top off the defense. An excellent route-runner with an exceptional catch radius, Jaaron uses his speed, explosiveness, and solid frame to pose a threat to the middle of the field as well as outside the hashes and numbers. He is as versatile a receiver as he is a complete one, as evidenced by his rushing and receiving averages stated above and his penchant for enabling the success of his teammates with his downfield blocking.

Following the cancelation of the 2020 season due to COVID-19, Jaaron returned to the field in 2021 to play 13 games where he averaged 16.8 yards/reception and earned All-CAA Football Third Team-Offense Honors. In 2022, he started/played in only eight (8) contests, but tallied 36 receptions for 810 yards (22.5 yards/reception) and eight (8) TDs, representing an average of one TD per game and more than 100 receiving yards per game. Having participated in two-thirds of the season, Jaaron nonetheless earned All-CAA Football First Team-Offense Honors with an Offensive Player of the Week accolade in Week Five (5) of the season. Closing out his collegiate career in 2023, Jaaron posted 35 receptions for 457 yards (13.1 yards/reception) with four (4) TDs, added Punt Return capabilities to his resume, and earned an invitation to the College Gridiron Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas.

In his four Wildcat seasons, Jaaron accounted for 170 receptions for 2,744 yards (16.1 yards/reception) and 29 TDs in his 48-game career. Throughout his entire career (2019-2023), Jaaron earned CAA Commissioner Academic Honor Roll commendations in each and every semester, which is consistent with his unparalleled Football IQ. His All-Time Rankings on the field at Nova are shown below as follows:

  • 3rd: 100+ Yd Receiving Game (11)
  • 4th: Receiving Yards (2,744)
